Aerovolt is currently building the world’s first charging network for electric aircraft. The company says that it was obvious that it should join forces with François Randin, who designed and launched the very first charging station for electric aircraft, to develop solutions for more sustainable aviation.
Prior to pioneering the electric aviation market, Randin was founder and CEO of two electric mobility start-ups, both of which were bought by blue chip companies. Founded in 2009, and bought by Eaton in 2021, Green Motion was one of the first start-ups to design and manufacture charging infrastructure for electric vehicles. evpass, the largest charging network for electric vehicles in Switzerland, was established in 2018 and acquired by Shell five years later.
“François is one of the most successful entrepreneurs in the EV industry. He is bringing to the team his unique 15 years’ experience in our business, his international network and an extensive start-up and entrepreneurship expertise,” said Philip Kingsley-Dobson, Aerovolt founder and CEO.
UK start-up Aerovolt has been focusing on its home market but is planning an international roll-out once the next financing round is completed.
